Maggie L. Wood grew up on P.E.I., where she honed her imagination skills playing Barbies and reading comics. As an adult, she landed a job working at a bookstore in London, Ontario and set immediately to devouring their YA section. Soon teens, teachers and librarians were coming to her for advice on what to read. She decided to try her own hand at writing and spent ten years learning the craft. Her first book, The Princess Pawn, was shortlisted for several prestigious awards and became a bestseller. Wood is currently working on her third book in the Mistolear series.
