Kim Anderson

Kim Anderson is a Cree/Métis researcher, writer and educator. She has published numerous scholarly articles related to Aboriginal women's health, Aboriginal women's leadership and motherhood. She has also published fiction and poetry in various literary journals. After earning a living for fifteen years conducting Aboriginal social and health policy research, she has recently returned to school full-time to do a doctorate in history. Kim works out of the University of Guelph where she is Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Women's Studies.

Bonita Lawrence

Bonita Lawrence (Mi'kmaw) teaches Native Studies at York University. She is the author of "Real" Indians and Others: Mixed-Blood Urban Native People and Indigenous Nationhood (UBC Press, 2004) as well as co-editor (with Kim Anderson) of Strong Women Stories: Native Vision and Community Survival (Sumach Press, 2003), and an edition of Atlantis: A Women's Studies Journal, entitled Indigenous Women: The State of Our Nations. She is a traditional singer, and volunteers with the Community Council (Aboriginal Legal Service's diversion program for Aboriginal offenders, in Toronto).
